Destinations: Tour Summary This fantastic China tour was crafted to showcase some of China’s most amazing destinations and gorgeous natural wonders. This is the perfect tour to see some of China’s most amazing natural and cultural places. You will first visit Shanghai, China’s largest city, which is an amazing cosmopolitan metropolis that seamlessly blends Chinese and Western cultures. You will then visit Guilin, reputed to have the most beautiful scenery on earth. After Guilin you will go to Chongqing and board your cruise ship for your cruise down the magnificent Yangtze River. You will then go to Xian, one of China’s ancient capitols and stand in awe of the Terracotta warriors which have stood guard over their emperor’s tomb for over 2,000 years. After Xian you will go to Beijing, the capital of China, and be mesmerized by its ancient imperial grandeur. Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival/Shanghai Special Cultural Experience: Acrobatic Show Upon your arrival in Shanghai, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day you are free to relax until your guide meets you and you are driven to the Shanghai Centre Theatre for an amazing performance of Chinese Acrobatics which will keep you on the edge of your seat. Day 2 Shanghai/Guilin Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Sites Visited: Shanghai Museum, The Bund, Nanjing Road, Yu Garden, Yuyuan Market Special Cultural Experience: Traditional Dim-sum Banquet
After breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the Shanghai Museum, arguably the best museum in China. You will then stroll down The Bund, and nearby Nanjing Road, known as the number one shopping street in China. You will then visit the ancient Yu Garden, which is the only surviving ancient garden in Shanghai. After visiting the garden you will be taken to the Yuyuan Market located outside the garden and be amazed at the quality and quantity of beautiful items for sale. The Yuyuan Market is extremely popular with visitors and locals alike. After the market you will be taken to enjoy a traditional Dim-sum Banquet, a traditional Shanghai local feast. You will then be driven to the airport for your flight to Guilin. Upon your arrival in Guilin, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel.
Day 3 Guilin Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Sites Visited: Elephant Trunk Hill, Fubo (Wave Subduing) Hill, Reed Flute Cave Special Cultural Experience: Guilin Rice Noodles After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to Fubo Hill. Located on the Li River, the beautiful karst rock hill is the centerpiece of a small park. You will then have a lunch of Guilin’s famous Rice Noodles. After lunch you will be driven to Reed Flute Cave. The cave’s many bizarre stalagmites and stalactites make visitors feel like they have stepped into another world. You will then be driven to Elephant Trunk Hill, the symbol of Guilin, which offers commanding views of Guilin City and the Li River.
Day 4 Guilin/Yangshuo/Guilin Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Sites Visited: Li River Cruise, West Street (Yangshuo) After breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Zhujiang Pier (40 minutes). There you will boat your boat for your Li River Cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo. The scenery along the Li River is often referred to as the most beautiful under heaven and you will understand why. Cruising down the river past beautiful karst mountains, bamboo groves, and water buffalos working in the fields will make you feel as though you have stepped into a Chinese painting. Upon docking in Yangshuo, you will be taken down Yangshuo’s famous West Street, known for its shops, bars, and eateries. You will then be driven back to Guilin (1.5 hours) Day 5 Guilin/Chongqing/Yangtze River Cruise Meals: Breakfast, Lunch After having breakfast in your hotel your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Chongqing. Upon your arrival in Chongqing, your guide will meet you and you will have a short tour of the city until it is time to board your Yangtze River Cruise Ship.
Day 6 Yangtze River Cruise Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Shore Excursions: Shibaozhai or the White Emperor City In the morning after breakfast, your ship will dock for your shore excursion to Shibaozhai or the White Emperor City. The captain will choose based on the weather situation. After your shore excursion, you will board your Yangtze River cruise ship and continue on your cruise through the amazing Three Gorges. Day 7 Yangtze River Cruise Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Shore Excursions: Lesser Three Gorges or Shennong Stream In the morning you will board small vessels for your trip through either the Lesser Three Gorges or the Shennong Stream. Your captain will choose depending on weather situation.
Day 8 Yangtze River Cruise/Yichang/Xian Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Shore Excursions:Three Gorges Dam In the morning after breakfast onboard ship, your Yangtze River Cruise ship will dock and you will have an excursion to the famed Three Gorges Dam, the larges hydro electric dam in the world. After lunch onboard ship, you will disembark your ship in the city of Yichang. Upon your arrival in Yichang, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Xian. Upon arriving in Xian, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or explore the ancient city of Xian.
Day 9 Xian Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Sites Visited: the Terracotta Warriors, Xian’s Ancient City Walls, the Ancient Bell Tower Special Cultural Experience: Tang Dynasty Show with Jiaozi (Dumpling) Feast After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the incredible Terracotta Warriors. After lunch you will be driven back to the city for a bicycle ride along the top of Xian’s Ancient City Wall to get a bird’s eye view of this amazing ancient city. You will then be driven to visit Xian’s Ancient Bell Tower, which signaled the time in Xian for centuries. In the evening you will be taken to an amazing Jiaozi (Dumpling) Feast followed by the Tang Dynasty Show, which bring the pageantry and music of the ancient Tang Dynasty to life. Note: If you do not feel like walking, an electric touring car will take you along the top of Xian’s Ancient City Wall.
Day 10 Xian/Beijing Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Sites Visited: Shaanxi Provincial Museum, Big Wild Goose Pagoda After breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Shaanxi Provincial Museum to see the amazing history of Xian. You will then be driven to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Housed in a huge temple complex, the ancient pagoda was built to house Buddhist Sutras brought to China from India. After visiting the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Beijing. Upon your arrival in Beijing, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out into the city of Beijing.
Day 11 Beijing Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Sites visited: The Forbidden City, the Summer Palace Special Cultural Experience: Peking (Beijing) Opera After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the incredible Forbidden City, home to China’s Emperors for over 500 years. After lunch, you will be driven to the exquisite Summer Palace, where you will marvel at the opulence of this imperial summer getaway. In the evening you will be mesmerized by a Peking (Beijing) Opera performance in Beijing’s famous Liyuan Theatre. Note: The opera will have English and French subtitles.
Day 12 Beijing Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Sites Visited: the Great Wall (Mutianyu Section), the Sacred Road, the Ding Tomb Special Cultural Experience: Peking (Beijing) Duck Dinner After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the majestic Great Wall (Mutianyu Section). After lunch next to the Great Wall you will be driven to visit the Sacred Road, the road leading to the tombs of the Ming Dynasty’s Emperor’s tombs. You will then visit the Ding Tomb, the only excavated imperial Ming Dynasty Tomb. In the evening you will be taken to enjoy a Peking (Beijing) Duck Banquet at the oldest and most famous Peking (Beijing) Duck restaurant in China. Day 13 Beijing/Departure Meals: Breakfast Sites Visited: the Temple of Heaven After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the amazing Temple of Heaven, which was where China’s Emperors prayed to Heaven. After visiting the huge complex, you will be driven to the airport for your flight back home.
