Itinerary


Forbidden City
China

Day 1 Arrival/Beijing

Upon your arrival at Beijing's airport, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or explore the city.


Day 2 Beijing

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Sites Visited: The Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven

Special Cultural Experience: A Peking (Beijing) Opera Performance

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the incredible Forbidden City, home to China’s Emperors for over 500 years.

After lunch, you will be driven to the exquisite Summer Palace, where you will marvel at the opulence of this imperial summer getaway.

You will then be drive to visit the magnificent Temple of Heaven, which was where China’s Emperors prayed to heaven.

In the evening you will be mesmerized by a Peking (Beijing) Opera performance in Beijing’s famous Liyuan Theatre.

Note:The opera will have English and French subtitles.


Peking Opera
China

Day 3 Beijing

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Sites Visited: The Great Wall (Mutianyu Section), the Sacred Road, the Ding Tomb

Special Cultural Experience: Peking (Beijing) Duck Banquet

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the majestic Great Wall (Mutianyu Section).

After lunch next to the Great Wall you will be driven to visit the Sacred Road, the road leading to the tombs of the Ming Dynasty's Emperor's tombs.

You will then visit the Ding Tomb, the only excavated imperial Ming Dynasty Tomb.

In the evening you will be taken to enjoy a Peking (Beijing) Duck Banquet at the oldest and most famous Peking (Beijing) Duck restaurant in China.


Xian Ancient City
China

Day 4 Beijing/Xian

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Sites Visited: Hutongs, Xian's Ancient City Wall
After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be taken on a rickshaw ride through the ancient lanes and alleyways of Beijing's Hutongs.

After seeing how local Beijingers have been living for centuries, you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Xian, another of China's ancient capitols.

Upon arriving in Xian, your local guide will meet you and take you for a bicycle ride along the top of Xian's Ancient City Wall to get a bird's eye view of this amazing ancient city.

Note: If you do not feel like walking, an electric touring car will take you around the top of Xian's Ancient City Wall.


Terracotta Warriors
China

Day 5 Xian

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Sites Visited: The Terracotta Warriors, Xian's Ancient Bell Tower, the Shaanxi Provincial Museum

Special Cultural Experience: Tang Dynasty Show with Jiaozi (Dumpling) Feast

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the incredible Terracotta Warriors.

After lunch you will be driven to the Shaanxi Provincial Museum to see Xian’s amazing history.

You will then be driven to visit Xian’s Ancient Bell Tower, which signaled the time in Xian for centuries.

In the evening you will be taken to an amazing Jiaozi (Dumpling) Feast followed by the Tang Dynasty Show, which bring the pageantry and music of the ancient Tang Dynasty to life.


Li River Cruise
China
Day 6 Xian/Guilin

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Sites Visited: Big Wild Goose Pagoda

Special Cultural Experience: Guilin Rice Noodles

After breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

Housed in a huge temple complex, the ancient pagoda was built to house Buddhist Sutras brought to China from India.

After visiting the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Guilin.

Upon your arrival in Guilin, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to your hotel.

In the Evening you will be taken out to try Guilin’s famous rice noodles.


Yangshuo West
China

Day 7 Guilin/Yangshuo

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Sites Visited: Li River Cruise, West Street (Yangshuo)

Special Cultural Experiences: Li River Beer Fish, The Impressions of Liusanjie (Third Sister Liu)

After breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Zhujiang Pier (40 minutes).

There you will boat your boat for your Li River Cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo.

The scenery along the Li River is often referred to as the most beautiful under heaven. Upon docking in Yangshuo, your guide will escort you to your hotel.

After checking in, you will be taken down Yangshuo's famous West Street, known for its shops, bars, and eateries.

In the evening you will dine on Yangshuo's amazing Li River Beer Fish, followed by the Impressions of Liusanjie (Third Sister Liu) performance.

The Performance, created by Zhang Yimou, China's premiere movie director and director of the Beijing Olympics' Opening Ceremony, is made up of hundreds of people and is performed on the Li River with the mountains as the backdrop. It is an unforgettable experience.


Nanjing Road
China

Day 8 Yangshuo/Guilin/Shanghai

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Sites Visited: Elephant Trunk Hill, Fubo (Wave Subduing) Hill, Reed Flute Cave

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven back to Guilin.

Upon arriving in Guilin, you will be driven to Fubo Hill. Located on the Li River, the beautiful karst rock hill is the centerpiece of a small park.

After, you will be driven to Reed Flute Cave. The cave's many bizarre stalagmites and stalactites make visitors feel like they have stepped into another world.

You will then be driven to Elephant Trunk Hill, the symbol of Guilin, which offers commanding views of Guilin City and the Li River.

After visiting Guilin, you will then be driven to the airport for your flight to Shanghai.

Upon your arrival in Shanghai, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or explore this amazing cosmopolitan metropolis.


Yu Garden
China

Day 9 Shanghai

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Sites Visited: Shanghai Museum, The Bund, Nanjing Road, Yu Garden, Yuyuan Market

Special Cultural Experiences: Acrobatic Show, Dim-sum Banquet

After breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the Shanghai Museum, arguably the best museum in China.

You will then stroll down The Bund, and the nearby Nanjing Road, known as the number one shopping street in China. You will then visit the ancient Yu Garden, which is the only surviving ancient garden in Shanghai.

After visiting the garden you will be taken to the Yuyuan Market located outside the garden and be amazed at the quality and quantity of beautiful items for sale. The Yuyuan Market is extremely popular with visitors and locals alike.

In the evening you will have a Dim-sum Banquet, a Shanghai specialty, followed by a stunning display of Chinese Acrobatics performed by China's premiere acrobatic troupes in the Shanghai Centre Theatre.


Day 10 Shanghai/Departure

Meals: Breakfast

On this, your last day in China, you will be free to step out into Shanghai for an adventure on your own before your guide escorts you to the airport for your flight home.
